Feed My Starving Children - Thank you!

The Maverick Swim Club would like to thank all of you who supported the Feed My Starving Children Project through your generous donations, and particularly to those who participated in packing food on December 28th. The Project was a huge success and it could not have been done without your help.

We had 195 Maverick swimmers, and their families pack food. We packed a total of 144 boxes of food which consisted of over 31,000 meals, that will FEED 85 children for an entire year.

Additionally, thank you to the generous families who donated the M&M tubes that were used to collect donations. This endeavor raised a total of $1,114 with $340 collected at the practices, and $774 collected on day of the event.

Congratulations to our IHSA State Series Participants

Congratulations to all of the Maverick Swim Club girls who competed for their high school teams at the IHSA sectional and state meets.  Six Maverick girls from three different high schools qualified and competed at the IHSA State Finals this past weekend - Lizzy Hollopeter, Erica Carvell, and Megan Sellers from MVHS, Julia Roller and Stephanie Jackson from NCHS, and Riley Schroedter from NVHS.  Megan Sellers placed 2nd in the 100 breaststroke, and Julia Roller placed 5th in 500 freestyle and 11th in 100 breaststroke.  Great job ladies!

Maverick Swim Club breaks into top 100 rankings for USA Swimming Virtual Club Championships

USA Swimming Virtual Club Championships automatically ranks all USA Swimming member clubs based on swimmer performances so clubs can see how they stack up against others in their LSC, Zone and across the nation.  The database figures out each clubs best possible event line up and calculates the team score.

Maverick Swim Club moved up in ranking to #91 Club in the country in 2010-2011 Short Course from #117 the year before, and to #4 in Illinois.
